The institute-Women's Polytechnic,Bhubaneswar was started in the year 1978 with one non-engieering of studies-Diploma in
Stenography and Secretarial Practice. Seeing the demand of technical education ,
Diploma in Architectural Assistantship was introduced in 1979.
To empower women of Orissa and assesing the demand of manpower by industries and
Organisation , the courses of IT , Civil , Beauty Culture , Electronics &
Telecommunication Engineering , Pharmacy and Modern Office Management were introduced.
Now the institute has grown in stature and recognised as Orissa's foremost Polytechnic for Women.
During last 25 years,it has only pushed and pumped determination and confidence in the minds of women making them technically qualified and self-reliant.
